G-Dragon Named Global Ambassador for UNESCO World Heritage Committee

K-pop legend and style icon G-Dragon is taking his global influence to a whole new level by stepping up for history and world peace. On July 3, 2026, South Korea’s National Heritage Administration officially announced that G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong, 38) has been named the official promotional ambassador for the upcoming 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Artistry and Charity Meet Global Peace

The National Heritage Administration explained that G-Dragon’s massive global star power and his deep commitment to helping others made him the perfect fit for the role:

"G-Dragon is an artist who has incredible influence across global music, fashion, and art. On top of that, by donating his music copyrights in 2024, he started the JUSPEACE Foundation. He serves as its honorary chairman to help solve social issues and spread culture through art. His values perfectly match this event."

Through a representative, G-Dragon shared his excitement about the meaningful new role:

"I find it incredibly important to serve as the ambassador for the UNESCO World Heritage Committee’s first-ever meeting in South Korea. World Heritage sites are shared treasures that all of humanity must protect together. Through this role, I want to deliver a message of peace that people all over the world can truly connect with."

The government also noted that the JUSPEACE Foundation’s core belief "Small actions change the world and create peace" perfectly matches UNESCO’s mission of international teamwork for world peace.

G-Dragon is expected to attend live events in Busan during the committee session to share his message of "Peace through Culture and Participation" with both local and international fans.
