He expressed his thoughts, saying, "I was wondering when would be the right time to share this news. As there is not much time left, I am worried about how MONBEBE will feel when they read this post." He further added, "I hoped that during the recent fan concert, MONBEBE would have seen me and laughed happily. I wanted to see that sight. I also wanted to do the same for them. That's why I am sharing this news today after much contemplation."
He continued, "Military service is something I must do. I will do my best and return courageously. Don't worry as I am not leaving forever. Promise me that you will think of me at least once a day. Remember the sweat we shed together, the days we spent passionately. Please don't forget those memories because I will be very sad if you do. I will come back and show you a more amazing version of myself. This time is our pause, not an end. It's a momentary pause to look forward to the next chapter," and concluded with "I love you, MONBEBE."
With this announcement, Joohoney becomes the third member of MONSTA X to enlist in the military. Previously, Shownu completed his service as a public service worker in April, while Minhyuk is currently serving in the active-duty army since April.
