fromis_9 is officially making their return this summer. On May 20, their new agency Ascend announced, “fromis_9 (Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Lee Nagyung, Lee Chaeyoung, and Baek Jiheon) will be releasing a new album in June. The comeback will showcase the group’s signature charm with a refreshing summer vibe. Please look forward to it.”

Originally formed through Mnet’s 2017 girl group survival show Idol School, fromis_9 has gone through significant changes over the years. In 2022, Jang Gyuri left the group to pursue an acting career. Then in 2023, Lee Saerom, Lee Seoyeon, and Roh Jisun departed the group following the expiration of their contracts with Pledis Entertainment.

The remaining five members—Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Lee Nagyung, Lee Chaeyoung, and Baek Jiheon—signed exclusive contracts with a new agency, Ascend, in January this year and confirmed they would continue group activities.
fromis_9, known for hits like “LOVE BOMB,” “DM,” “Stay This Way,” and “Supersonic,” has consistently captivated fans with their catchy music and bright energy. With the group now restructured into a five-member lineup, fans are eager to see what kind of sound and concept they will bring to the stage this time.
Their upcoming release will be their first since the emotional farewell performance as an eight-member group at the 2024 MBC Gayo Daejejeon, where members tearfully said goodbye—leaving fans both touched and heartbroken.
