More Korean Actors Take on Theater Productions, Including This Rising Star

Renowned Actor Kim Kyung-nam to Star in the Play The Pride

Actor Kim Kyung-nam is set to captivate audiences through the play The Pride.

On the 23rd, his agency, King Kong by Starship, announced, “Kim Kyung-nam will appear as ‘Philip’ in the play The Pride. We ask for your support and anticipation.”

The Pride, part of the 20th-anniversary season of Korea’s renowned theater brand Theatrical Revolution and the fifth production of Theatrical Revolution 10, explores themes of love, courage, acceptance, and reconciliation. The story alternates between 1958 and 2008, portraying the lives of Philip, Oliver, and Sylvia as they navigate the contrasting social climates, challenges, and conflicts of the two eras.

Kim Kyung-nam will play Philip, a character caught between societal norms and his inner voice. Through his portrayal of two contrasting lives shaped by different times, he promises to bring a dynamic and emotionally resonant performance to the stage.

Kim Kyung-nam has consistently showcased his acting prowess across various genres, including plays and dramas. Last year, he delivered a gripping performance as the game developer Paul in the play Killology. He also left a strong impression with his role as Won Jong-soo in SBS’s Connection, solidifying his reputation as a versatile actor. His efforts were recognized at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards, where he won Best Supporting Actor in the Genre/Action category.

The upcoming play The Pride, running from March 29 (Saturday) to June 22 (Sunday), will be staged at the Yes24 Artwon Theater 2. Preview tickets will be available starting February 6 (Thursday).

Meanwhile, more actors are stepping into theater to connect with audiences directly. In addition to Kim Kyung-nam’s The Pride, Lim Ju-hwan and Lee Hyung-hoon will also star in the play. Other notable stage projects include Jekyll & Hyde featuring Choi Jung-won and Ko Hun-jung, Anna X starring Lee Sang-yeob, The Secret of Flowers with Gong Seung-yeon, and Our Little Sister with Uee and Shin Ye-seo.
