A Tale of Aging, Survival, and Humanity

First published in 2018, 'The Old Woman With the Knife' became a bestseller in Korea and garnered global attention for its compelling story and sharp social critique. The story follows Hornclaw (called Jogak in Korean), a 65-year-old assassin who has worked for 40 years in an organization called "Sacred Disinfection," eliminating "cockroach-like" people. Her life takes a turn when a mysterious assassin, To-woo, begins to chase her, sparking a gripping and emotional battle between the two.

The film is directed by Min Kyu-dong, known for 'Antique' and 'Herstory', marking his return to Berlinale. Lee Hye-young, celebrated for her performances in 'The Novelist’s Film' and 'In Front of Your Face', stars as Hornclaw. Kim Sung-chul, a rising star praised for his roles in 'The Night Owl', 'Our Beloved Summer', and 'Jekyll & Hyde', portrays To-woo. Supporting cast members include Yeon Woo-jin, Kim Mu-yeol, and breakout star Shin Si-ah, all adding depth and diversity to the ensemble.
