BLACKPINK member Jisoo (30) is set to return as a solo artist, marking her highly anticipated comeback in the music scene.
According to OSEN on January 10, Jisoo is preparing for her solo comeback, aiming for next month. When approached for confirmation, her representatives stated, “We are unable to provide details at this time.”
This will be Jisoo’s first solo release in nearly two years since her debut single album ME in 2023. The album’s title track, “Flower,” became a cultural phenomenon with the “Flower Challenge” trending globally, and Jisoo clinched nine music show wins, proving her massive popularity.
Since establishing her own agency, BliSOO, in February last year, Jisoo has focused on her acting career. She recently completed filming for the movie 'Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint' and set to appear in the MBC drama 'Monthly Boyfriend'.
Jisoo’s solo comeback has garnered heightened expectations, as she is the final member of BLACKPINK to complete her solo journey. Previously, Jennie released her solo single “Mantra” in October 2024, while Lisa dropped “Rockstar” in June the same year. Rosé made headlines last December with her first full-length album rosie, which included the global hit “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars, sparking an international craze.
Before her musical return, Jisoo will greet fans as an actress. She stars as Young-joo in the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia', set to premiere on February 7. The series follows Jae-yoon (Park Jung-min), a late-enlisting soldier, and his bold girlfriend Young-joo as they traverse a zombie-infested Seoul to reunite.
Celebrating their ninth anniversary this year, BLACKPINK is set to reaffirm their status as the reigning queens of K-pop with plans for a group comeback and a world tour.
