SBS has announced the cancellation of the press conference for its new Friday-Saturday drama Love Scout (literal title: My Perfect Secretary), originally scheduled for January 3 at 2 p.m.

In an official statement released on December 30, SBS said, “The press conference for Love Scout (literal title: My Perfect Secretary) has been canceled. We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the victims and their families.”

Starring Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk, Love Scout is a romantic drama about Ji-yoon (Han Ji-min), a CEO of a headhunting company who excels at work but struggles in personal matters, and Eun-ho (Lee Joon-hyuk), her efficient and flawless secretary who provides close, personalized care.

While the press conference will not take place, the drama’s first episode will still air as planned at 10 p.m. on the same day.

Entertainment Industry Halts Activities Amid National Mourning

Following the tragic Jeju Air plane crash, which led to a week-long national mourning period, numerous entertainment events have been canceled or postponed. Scheduled year-end award shows, concerts, and music releases have been called off across the broadcasting and music industries.

The film industry has also adjusted its promotional schedules. The press conference for Secret: Untold Melody, a remake of the Taiwanese film starring Shin Ye-eun and Do Kyung-soo, was canceled. Promotional activities for the films Harbin and Bogota: City of the Lost, including media interviews and variety show appearances, were postponed or canceled.

Details of the Jeju Air Tragedy

The Jeju Air tragedy, considered the worst aviation disaster in South Korea’s history, occurred at 9:03 a.m. on December 29. Flight 7C2216, traveling from Bangkok to Muan International Airport, crashed into the airport’s outer wall during landing, resulting in an explosion.

Out of the 181 people on board, only two crew members survived, while all 179 passengers tragically lost their lives.
