LE SSERAFIM, a leading K-pop girl group, is heating up the year-end festivities abroad.
According to Japanese media outlet TBS on December 19, LE SSERAFIM will appear at the 66th annual Japan Record Awards, airing on December 30.
The Japan Record Awards, organized by the Japan Composer’s Association, is a prestigious music award ceremony with a long-standing history, dating back to its inception in 1959. Last month, this year’s winners were announced, and LE SSERAFIM was honored with the Special International Music Award. This accolade is presented to artists who demonstrate outstanding global achievements, regardless of their region or country. Notably, LE SSERAFIM is the first K-pop girl group to win this award.
As award recipients, LE SSERAFIM will attend the ceremony and perform on stage. They have prepared their Japanese single "Perfect Night – Japanese Version," the title track from their third Japanese single album released on December 11. This track is the Japanese version of "Perfect Night," the title track from their fourth Korean mini-album. The song recently climbed to third place on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100, marking its highest ranking yet and showing sustained popularity nearly four months after its initial release.
LE SSERAFIM has had an exceptional year in Japan. They made their mark on multiple categories in Billboard Japan’s 2024 Mid-Year Charts, including the Hot 100, Hot Albums, and Top Artists. Additionally, the group’s first Japanese fan meeting tour, FEARNADA 2024 S/S – Japan, attracted approximately 80,000 fans across four cities.
Their success extended further with their song "Eve, Psyche, and the Bluebeard’s Wife", which surpassed 100 million cumulative streams and earned a Platinum certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
