The top 10 includes Madrid in second place, followed by Tokyo, Rome, Milan, New York, Amsterdam, Sydney, Singapore, and Barcelona.

Seoul ranked 12th, while London, which was 10th in last year’s survey, dropped to 13th overall. Despite ranking second in tourism infrastructure, London failed to make the top 10 in categories such as tourism policies, sustainability, health, and safety. Europe had the most cities in the top 10, with six cities included. In the U.S., New York was the only city to make the top 10, while Los Angeles ranked 18th.

The rankings are based on factors such as tourism, sustainability, economic performance, health, and safety in major cities worldwide. Euromonitor International highlighted that Paris has excellent travel policies and infrastructure, and it reported that 70 million tourists have already visited this year. Tokyo, benefiting from the yen's depreciation, has welcomed nearly 13 million visitors this year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

Meanwhile, the city with the most foreign visitors was Bangkok, Thailand, with 32.4 million visitors, claiming the top spot. Istanbul, which was last year's number one, came in second with 23 million visitors. London ranked third with 21.7 million, followed by Hong Kong (20.5 million), Mecca (19.3 million), Antalya (19.3 million), Dubai (18.2 million), Macau (18 million), Paris (17.4 million), and Kuala Lumpur (16.5 million).

Euromonitor International reported that global international flight passenger numbers increased by 19% this year due to a rise in travel demand.
