Actors Lee Dong-hwi and Jung Ho-yeon have ended their relationship. The couple, cherished as an official celebrity pair in the entertainment industry, has brought their nearly nine-year romance to a close.
According to a report by YTN Star on the 26th, actors Lee Dong-hwi and Jung Ho-yeon, who had been in a public relationship, have recently ended their romance and decided to remain colleagues. Known as one of the entertainment industry’s most admired couples, the two began dating in 2015 and officially confirmed their relationship in early 2016. Throughout their relationship, they openly expressed their affection while focusing on their respective acting careers.
Both sides have acknowledged the breakup. A representative from Lee Dong-hwi’s agency, Company On, confirmed the news, stating, “It is true that Lee Dong-hwi recently ended his relationship,” but did not provide further details. Similarly, Jung Ho-yeon’s agency, Saram Entertainment, confirmed the breakup, adding, “They have decided to remain good colleagues.”
The couple had frequently shown public support for each other. In a 2021 interview after the global success of Netflix's Squid Game, Jung Ho-yeon shared that Lee Dong-hwi celebrated her achievements as if they were his own, often telling her he was proud of her. In 2022, Lee Dong-hwi congratulated Jung Ho-yeon on social media when she won the Best Actress award at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
Lee Dong-hwi debuted in the 2013 film Run to the South and recently starred as Kim Sang-soon in MBC's Detective Squad 1958, which concluded in May. He is set to appear in tvN's variety show Finland Lodge premiering on December 6. Jung Ho-yeon, originally a model, rose to international fame as an actress in Netflix’s Squid Game Season 1. Lee Dong-hwi was born in 1985, while Jung Ho-yeon was born in 1994.
